The students are learning to identify "irony" in a work of art, and are working to design a simple work of Pop-style art like artists Lichtenstein and Warhol.

3rd grade- Drawing Trees from Observation!

Our first step: Going outside and observing! We started by focusing on the outlines, or contours, of the trees, and added lines to show texture and shadow.

2nd Grade Portrait Project!

The 2nd grade students are learning about realistic facial proportion, and are practicing with drawing self-portraits by observing themselves in mirrors. They will later create self-portrait collages that show expression.

1st grade Shape Art!

The 1st grade students are learning to identify geometric and organic shapes. They are learning about artist W. Kandinsky, and how he used both geometric and organic circles in his paintings. They are first practicing making circles, and then will be painting circles in a similar style as Kandinsky.

Kindergarten Line Art!

The K students are learning to identify different kinds of lines, like straight, curly, zigzag, and wavy. They are learning that lines can go in many directions, like vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. They will be creating abstract works of art using marker and water that show what they have learned.
